Commercial Painting Hayward Painting Clean Lines

Commercial Painting Hayward: Painting Clean LinesCommercial painting in Hayward requires precise execution in order to attain a flawless painting job. One of the things that painters do is to achieve clean lines between the wall and anything else (ceilings, trims, frames, etc.).

There are many painters out there, even the most experienced DIYers, sometimes cannot help feeling frustrated when it comes to cutting in around edges. Following along the trim lines, and failing at it, can be a bit disheartening. You might use a painter's tape, but even that won't guarantee perfect lines since the paint could still find its way underneath it (plus, taping the area will take up half your day).

But do not lose hope! Discover how professional painters achieve clean, crisp lines or working around the more intricate details of a space (such as woodwork) without getting any of the paint on them.

1) Patience and practice
If there's one thing that professional painters do not tell you (and we're sure you might be half-hearted to hear about) is that it takes lots of patience and practice to achieve creating those perfect lines. As with all other forms of workmanship, perfection doesn't happen overnight. It also requires determination if you want to get it right.

2) Lighting – lots of it
Painting in the dark may cause you to make mistakes. Getting in a good position with plenty of lighting will help you make more accurate and help you get polished lines. If the area you're painting doesn't have plenty of natural light, install lots of other lighting such as headlamps.

3) Use the right tools
One regular paint brush won't do it. You should invest in quality tools such as other types of brushes for detail work. One of them is the angular sash brush which is intended for cutting in corners, painting alongside the trim, or painting alongside the ceiling. Using the right tools, along with a steady hand, will enable you to achieve a perfect paint line where the wall meets the trim or ceiling.

4) Get a "grip"!
Using a grip for the paintbrush allows you to have better control.

5) Use a ceiling painting pad
If you're new to painting and you are unsure on how to paint the top of the wall, you can use a ceiling painting pad. This tool will help you paint a perfect line easily. The pad itself is removable and the tool itself is ideal for repeated uses.

6) Load your paintbrush properly
A lot of DIY painters load their brushes either too much or too little, and this can lead to mistakes. Load about a third of the brush, then tap the excess off the bristles carefully on the side of the paint can or paint tray.

7) Wipe off the "mistake"
Even professional painters commit mistakes sometimes by getting paint in areas that they don't want to paint. If you make such mistake, remove it by wrapping a clean, damp rag around a putty knife. Then gently and carefully, slide the putty knife along the paint to wipe it off. Make sure to do this right away while the paint is still wet, so that it can be easily removed. Otherwise, once this painting mistake starts to dry, you may have to resort to more aggressive measures in removing it, such as using thinners (which may damage the other painted areas).

These tried-and-true methods will help you achieve one of the most challenging areas in commercial painting in Hayward – creating clean lines. It takes patience, practice, a steady hand, and a right set of tools in order to attain that.
